When you become an apprentice at Mira – you'll experience much more than a job. Our award-winning programme aims to go beyond the training you need to succeed in your role. You'll receive mentoring, opportunities within STEAM, attendance at our annual apprentice residential and a ‘buddy’ when you start with us.

Business apprenticeship

Our Business apprenticeship offers commercial experience with our Marketing, Service and Supply Chain teams. With a mix of on and offsite training, leadership development and coaching, you’ll study part-time for a Project Management qualification as you learn and develop through your apprenticeship with us.

Level 4 Project Management

You'll achieve a Level 4 Project Management qualifcation.

A minimum of 5 GSCEs , achieved or predicted, A*- C or 9 - 4 to include English, Maths and successful completion of Level 3 qualification (e.g. A-Level, BTEC etc.) with grades (or predicted grades) equating to 96 UCAS points or above (typically 3 C’s at A-level).

The duration of the course is 2 years.

Theoretical studies will be completed online every 4-6 weeks with our learning provider, The Learning Curve Group. This will be complemented with hands-on work based projects aligned to your studies.

Starting salary is £17,000. Additional bonuses available and access to company pension.

You will be based at our Headquarters in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

Engineering apprenticeships

Our Engineering apprenticeships rotate through our Engineering teams – from Manufacturing to Product Design – giving you the opportunity to learn a wide range of skills and discover which business area excites you most. Combining study and on-site training, you’ll achieve a Level 3 or Level 6 qualification (depending on your apprenticeship) with opportunities for further development.

Level 6 Mechanical Engineering Degree

You'll achieve a BEng(Hons) Mechanical Engineering with Manufacturing degree, accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), at the University of West England (UWE).

A minimum of 5 GSCEs, achieved or predicted, A*- C or 9 – 4, including English, Maths and Science and successful completion of Level 3 qualification (e.g. A-Level, BTEC, T level etc.) with grades (or predicted grades) equating to 112 UCAS points or above in Maths (Grade 4 and above) and a pass in another STEM subject.

The duration of the course is 4 years.

In year 1, you will spend 2 days a week studying at the University of West England (UWE), in Bristol. In years 2-4 you will spend 1 day per week at Uni, the rest of your time will be spent on site in Cheltenham.

Starting salary is £20,000. Additional bonuses available and access to company pension.

You will be based at our Headquarters in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

Level 3 Engineering Technician

You'll achieve an NVQ Level 3 qualification with the opportunity to study for a Higher National Certificate and Diploma.

A minimum of 5 GSCEs, achieved or predicted, A*- C or 9 – 4, including English, Maths and Science.

The duration of the course is 4 years.

In your first year you will be full time at Gloucestershire Engineering Training (GET), in Barnwood. In years 2-4, you will spend 1 day per week at college and the rest on site in Cheltenham.

Starting salary is £15,000. Additional bonuses available and access to company pension.

You will be based at our Headquarters in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

Year in Industry placements

Our Year in Industry programme allows you to apply your studies to a real-life business function – giving you practical, relevant work experience before you graduate. We offer 12-month programmes across Marketing, New Product Development and Industrial Design, based in Cheltenham with a minimum salary of £20,000.
